Sesame has already captured in excess of 10% of the certified seed market for winter oilseed rape in the 2010-11 season, its pre-launch year. Now its top position on the HGCA Recommended List will surely make it the most popular variety for growers in 2011. Sesame’s gross output takes it to the top of the yield table and its good lodging resistance, stem stiffness and strong overall agronomic features will make it the preferred choice for oilseed rape growers in the coming drilling season.
Cracker is a worthy successor for Mendel in the clubroot resistant slot. In the HGCA Recommended List for winter oilseed rape in the North region, Cracker was 8% above Mendel, and also had an impressive 5% lead for fungicide treated gross output in the East/West region. Cracker boasts a top score of ‘9’ for light leaf spot resistance as the lead benefit of its strong all-round agronomic features.
Palace is a high-yielding hybrid that has a valuable combination of fungicide treated gross output with a leading combination of disease resistance characters. In particular, its excellent light leaf spot resistance coupled with stem canker resistance makes Palace the top choice for regions where disease pressure is on the increase.
